Frequently Asked Questions

We have received many emails from people planning their first trip to Godstock. That is wonderful news! Most are requesting info about what to expect at Godstock, and what they should or are allowed to bring. From the previous questions, we have assembled a FAQ (frequently asked questions) section to assist in an enjoyable visit. As new questions are posed, this FAQ will grow. Along the same lines, we have a list of Helpful Hints that might help you plan for your visit and give you an idea of what to expect.
When does it start?
Godstock starts at 10:00 A.M. and ends around 9:00 P.M.
When does the gate open?
The opening act starts at 10:00am in the grandstand. If you arrive between 9:00am and 9:30am you should be in good shape. There is plenty of parking on the fairgrounds and the concession stands and vendor booths will be in place. If you arrive extra early, please bear with us as we make our last minute preparations!
What kind of concessions are at Godstock? What are the prices?
The food concessions at Godstock are provided by Godstock and by other non-profit organizations from the Fairfield area. Part of Godstock's fundraising efforts include weekend cookouts that include pork chop sandwiches, polish sausage and a southern Illinois delicacy, porkburgers! Don't laugh, just try one....only a buck and a half apiece, it's worth a try! Prices on all concessions are very reasonable, you won't see any $4.00 sodas at this concert. All of the other food concessions at Godstock are the same way. No stadium prices here! More details of the food served at Godstock can be found here.
Can we set up a merchandise vendor at Godstock?
The Godstock Committee must give prior approval to anyone wishing to sell merchandise at the festival. Applications for vendors must be in the hands of the committee by July 1 for review. The application must include a sample or picture of every item of merchandise to be sold along with prices of each item, as well as detailing the organization and how the proceeds will be used. Applicants will agree to 25% of the gross sales donated to Godstock. Applicants will be notified by August 1 of their approval status. Incomplete applications will result in denial of application. Serious applicants should contact us through via email for further instructions.

How is parking?
There will be Godstock personnel on hand to assist in parking, helping to ensure everyone can come and go as they need. Bus parking is available, and handicapped needs can be accommodated.
What kind of activities are there?
Godstock is basically a music concert, with the occasional guest speaker. Activities are limited to the imaginations of a few thousand energetic kids. We do supply an activity area equipped with volleyball nets and plenty of room to lob a football or toss a frisbee. There are also a couple of basketball hoops handy. As with any outdoor music festival, you will find the occasional frisbee or ball appear in the crowd. We encourage those to move to the activity area so no one gets hurt by flying objects.
Can we bring coolers?
No, coolers are not allowed. We want to remind you that our concessions at Godstock provide a big part of our fundraising effort for the festival next year and they are all very reasonably priced. We urge you to make use of these concessions and help us to keep this concert affordable to the public! We appreciate you NOT bringing glass bottles and alcohol is not allowed.
How can I donate to Godstock?
Donation bins will be scattered throughout the venue and will be clearly marked. If your youth group is interested in doing a fundraiser for Godstock, you can mail the donation or bring it with you. For more info on helping out, click here.
